  • The City of Stamford (pop. 3,000) is looking for a seasoned local government professional to be its next City Manager. Stamford is located approximately 40 miles north of Abilene and has enjoyed a stable and progressive environment over several decades. The previous City Manager retired May 3, 2024 after serving 14 years in the position.

    Stamford enjoys an idyllic, small town charm that enjoys a low crime rate, great housing and land values, not to mention an outstanding school district with high ratings for academic excellence, as well as outstanding athletic programs. The city has an outstanding downtown that is continually attracting new tenants, and a strong desire exists to continue making downtown a destination and entertainment venue. The City is also famous for the Texas Cowboy Reunion, a professional and amateur rodeo held around July 4th each year that attracts thousands.
