Stamford Lake and College Lake
Stamford Lake is located 10 miles northeast of Stamford. It is a tributary of the Clear Fork of the Brazos River with a surface area of about 5,124 acres and a depth of about 36 feet. It is a prime location for boating, or simply just relaxing by the water. You can learn more about Stamford Lake and it’s features on the Texas Parks and Wildlife website. College Lake is located on the east side of town and is a smaller lake great for kayaking or fishing.

Western Swing Dances
The city of Stamford is quickly becoming a hub of country and western swing dancing. The Stagecoach Event Center as well as the historic TCR Old Timers Round Up Hall host regular dance events with some of the best western swing and country dance bands around. Historical Landmarks
Stamford is filled with various historical sites that will appeal to those interested in small town history and culture. You can see sites such as our Coke Park Mural just north of the square, the cowboy statue commemorating our western heritage heading west out of town, or the historic remains of the Stamford Inn built in 1900. Other notable sites include Arledge Field Airport and our Stamford Carnegie Library, both of which carry historical significance in our community.
